Brian works as a senior psychologist on the Sunshine Coast with over 30 years experience across a wide variety of settings. He works with all mental health issues that people experience with a current focus on depression, anxiety and relationship issues, especially couples therapy. He is also a psychotherapist working from a relational approach and has published many articles, book chapters and books in these areas.
He recently established (2015) the Queensland headspace Youth Early Psychosis Program in Southport and in 1996 he was awarded the Australia and New Zealand Gold Medal for Mental Health Achievement by the Governor General, Sir William Deane. He is a senior fellow in mental health at the University of Wollongong where he teaches Diagnosis and Assessment in Mental Health and is a Fellow of the College of Counselling Psychologists with the Australian Psychological Society.
In accordance with research, Brian believes the person is their own expert on change and it is his job is to work with them to help coach the person, couple or family in the changes they want to achieve by helping with psychological practices that are evidence informed.He has experience in supporting people through workers compensation and other organisational issues, with working with veterans and their families, and established programs for Relationships Australia supporting couples and their children going through separation with the Family Law Court. Brian is fully registered with the Australian PsychologicalSociety, Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and Medicare.
