Sarah Gray is an Accredited Practising Dietitian, completing her bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics in 2012 and her post graduate degree in Diabetes Education in 2013.
She first discovered her love for food and nutrition in high school home economics class, where she found a passion for cooking foods she had never tried before and learning the basics about how diet can impact human health and wellbeing.
Some of Sarah’s areas of special interest are in;
- Diabetes management, including management of the commonly misdiagnosed and poorly treated, Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults (LADA, also known as Type 1.5 diabetes).
- Balancing and supplementing vegan, vegetarian and flexitarian diets.
- Managing and treating disorders of the gut including FODMAP intolerance (one cause of irritable bowel syndrome), gut bacterial dysbiosis and coeliac disease.
- Maintaining physical and mental function in ageing.
Sarah is an empathic and non-judgmental practitioner and will help with flexible suggestions based on your personal preferences, lifestyle and biological needs, to meet your health goals. She is a HAES® (Health at Every Size) practitioner who focuses on the bigger picture of your health rather than just focusing on external (and inaccurate) measures of health.

- Sarah loves cooking and enjoys experimenting to make a mostly wholefoods plant-based diet varied, tasty and nutritionally adequate. Sarah loves cooking meals and ingredients from scratch most of the time, to reduce consumption of additives that might be detrimental to long term health. Plus, fresh food just tastes better!
- A mum to a busy toddler, Sarah spends most of her days reading books and playing with dinosaurs (reliving her own childhood fascination with dinosaurs and palaeontology) and keeping her step count up!
- Sarah has a creative streak and loves water colour painting, sewing, pottery and creating art and décor for her family mid-century home her that and her husband are renovating. Sarah believes engaging with activities you enjoy and making something physical with your hands is a great benefit to mental health.
- If she’s not in the kitchen, you’ll likely find Sarah in the garden with her son Hamish, soaking up some sunshine and enjoying the native birds, tending to fruit trees and preparing for the next harvest of vegetables and herbs.
- She has a passion for living sustainably and ethically, her family of three lives almost entirely single-use plastic free and follows a sustainable diet. Apart from the environmental benefits living this way has, it has also resulted in a newfound simplicity to life and reduction in potentially hazardous ingredients found in many foods, cleaning products and personal care products. Sarah believes caring for the environment benefits the whole community, as the health of the environment ultimately affects human health.
