Nutrition support without the confusion

Realistic nutrition advice for everyday life

Good nutrition should feel achievable, flexible and relevant to your health, not like another strict set of rules.

First, our Sunshine Coast Dietitian works with you to understand your medical history, eating patterns, lifestyle and goals.

From there, she creates practical recommendations that may help you manage a diagnosed condition, address nutrient intake, improve your relationship with food or build sustainable habits.

Above all, we value balance over perfection. Therefore, your plan is tailored to your needs, preferences, culture, budget and routine.

Why see an Accredited Practising Dietitian?

  • Individual nutrition assessment
  • Evidence-based dietary advice
  • Support for chronic and complex conditions
  • Practical meal and food strategies
  • Collaborative goal setting
  • Communication with other health professionals when appropriate

Frequently asked questions

Sunshine Coast Dietitian FAQs

What is the difference between a Dietitian and a nutritionist?

In Australia, Dietitians are qualified to provide medical nutrition therapy and work with diagnosed health conditions. In particular, an Accredited Practising Dietitian has met the credentialing and ongoing professional requirements set by Dietitians Australia. By contrast, the term nutritionist is broader and is not regulated in the same way.

Do I need a referral to see a Dietitian?

No referral is needed for a private appointment. However, a GP referral may be required if you hope to claim a Medicare rebate or use another specific funding arrangement.

Can I receive a Medicare rebate?

Some eligible clients may receive a Medicare rebate for Dietitian services when referred by their GP under an applicable chronic condition management arrangement. Your GP can assess eligibility.

Can I use NDIS funding for Dietitian appointments?

Depending on their plan, eligible clients with self-managed or plan-managed NDIS funding may be able to use it for appropriate Dietitian services. Before booking, please check your plan or speak with your plan manager.

Does Hannah work with children?

Yes. Hannah provides paediatric Dietitian support for children aged four years and over, as well as support for teenagers, adults and families.

Can a Dietitian help with IBS or a low-FODMAP diet?

Yes. A Dietitian can assess digestive concerns and provide structured, individual guidance where a low-FODMAP or another therapeutic dietary approach is appropriate.

Will I be given a strict meal plan?

Not necessarily. Instead, care is tailored to your needs and may involve meal ideas, education, flexible strategies or a structured plan where helpful. Above all, the focus is on achievable and sustainable changes.

Where are Sunshine Coast Dietitian appointments held?

Appointments are available at our Mooloolaba clinic at Suite 505, 45 Brisbane Road and our Caloundra clinic at Suite 7, 51–55 Bulcock Street. Online appointments may also be available.
